Well that went well!

Blue Sunday – 17th May 2015

Current fundraising total = £1351.17
Total for all of the Blue Sunday inspired tea parties held across the country = £5694.26

To say this year’s tea party exceeded expectations would be an understatement. I had no idea it would be so busy! Hiring a venue was definitely a good decision! I’m not sure 70 people would sit in our living room…

There were half drunk cups of coffee scattered around the room as I didn’t seem to have time to sit and finish a whole one in one go. Everytime I sat down someone else would walk through the door. My brothers, neither of whom have probably ever made a cup of tea in their life, manned the kitchen. My mum spent two days baking. My dad was on top-up duty. My sister and boyfriend were busy mingling and chatting and welcoming everyone. It was a real family effort and I am incredibly grateful to all those who helped out. I definitely couldn’t have done any of it without them.

It was overwhelming to see so many people give up their Sunday afternoon to join us. And they did it for me. For us. And many of those who joined us weren’t even local! Some came from as far away as Bristol!

I can’t thank you all enough for your support. It still hasn’t really sunk in I don’t think…
