Hello, I’m Anna. I’m 37 and I live in England.

Before The M.E. Years, I studied History at the University of East Anglia (UEA) between 2007-10.
In September 2010, after a week abroad with my family, I became unwell very suddenly and my life altered beyond recognition within a matter of weeks. In the October I became a full-time poorly person.
In November 2010 I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. In January 2011 I was referred to the Lincolnshire CFS/ME Clinic who classed me as a severe sufferer. 15 years in, I believe I will never recover, although I am incredibly lucky to have seen some improvement.
After a diagnosis of Adenomyosis in 2022, I had a Total Hysterectomy in 2025, and therefore entered Surgical Menopause at the age of 36.
So, I wasn’t always a ‘sick chick’; this is somewhat of a life changing experience! It may not be the life I’d have chosen but it’s the life I’ve got, so I try hard to look on the bright side. Sometimes I fail miserably though.
